The Tuscarawas County Class "A" League will deviate a bit from it usual Friday night custom this week. Only three games, instead of the usual four, are on the firing line. The feature contest will be at Tuscarawas where the Broncos entertain the once-beaten Tuscarawas Valley Trojans who still hold a mathematical chance of gaining a share of the league championship. The Trojans must win in order to retain any hopes of deadlocking Midvale should the unbeaten rulers falter in their final game February 6 against Port Washington. Tusky Valley enters tomorrow night's game with a 5-1 loop mark. Tuscarawas has a 2-4 standing. Baltic invades Stone Creek and Port Washington is host to Strasburg in the other league matches. Midvale and Garaway are idle in loop warfare this week and Gnadenhutten already has closed its league campaign. Friday's Strasburg-Port Washington contest also will wrap up league play for the former. Baltic will be seeking to topple Stone Creek in order to gain a fourth-place deadlock with idle Garaway at 4-3 standings. Considerable interest will be focused on league action tomorrow night, especially from the individual scoring standpoint. Tuscarawas' Gary Caviness jumped into the runnerup spot last week with 150 points and needs 67 points in two games to overhaul Gnadenhutten's Ron Bradley. Bradley finished the campaign with 217 points. Midvale's Ron Breniser is third in the race with 133 points, while Tusky Valley's Ben Price is fourth with 125.
