59 - Tuscarawas County Class "A" Basketball League (1-31-59)

Tuscarawas County Class "A" League followers will have to wait until February 6 for a final decision on whether the scholastic basketball loop will have an undisputed ruler or a co-championship. That situation was created Friday night when the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans kept their title ambitions alive with a resounding 60-39 victory at Tuscarawas. The victory gave Tusky Valley a 6-1 loop record, just a shade off the 7-0 mark held by current king, Midvale. The latter is responsible for the former's only setback, scoring an 81-56 triumph January 9. While a Midvale championship repeat is heavily expected when the league concludes its season February 6, there could be a two-way tie if the Blue Devils lose to Port Washington and Tusky Valley moves past Baltic. Stone Creek pinned a 72-67 victory on Baltic last night and Strasburg downed Port Washington 77-63. The Strasburg victory enabled the Tigers to close loop warfare with a 2-6 record. Stone Creek wrapped up league activity with a 3-5 mark. Baltic is now 3-4 for the loop and Port Washington has an 0-7 standing.
