Tusky Wins In County Tournament (8-5-55)

Tuscarawas came out on top in the County Midget tournament being held at Gnadenhutten last night, edging Midvale in the Midget contest 3-1. Gnadenhutten and Wainwright will meet on the Gnaden field this evening. Last night's action also marked the first game under the new lighting system at the Gnaden field, behind the school house, marking a successful end to a year of work by the Gnaden Recreation Association in getting the new lights. The Association president, Bob Clark, threw the switch in a brief ceremony preceding the game, while also with the ceremony were Howdy Frank, Ward Roth, Bill Martin, Virgil Bradley and Paul Cappel. Willard Gosenbacher, with the help of the others, did the wiring for the new lighting system. Fellers took the win for Tusky in the Midget contest, allowing five hits and fanning 12. Beans took the loss for Midvale, allowing nine hits and striking out a dozen.
