In the two top Class B battles of the still-infant season the unbeaten Midvale Blue Devils square off against likewise undefeated Strasburg and at Port the Riders of Bray Toot face the unsullied Gnadenhutten Indians. Baltic is at Dundee and Bolivar at Stone Creek.
*
TOUGH TASK
*
The game at Midvale, possibly the most attractive "B" skirmish in the area to date, will find the host Middies in quest of their seventh straight nod and Strasburg seeking No. 6 in a row.
*
TWO MUTUAL FOES
*
The two teams have engaged common foes in Tuscarawas and Dundee. Midvale beat Tuscarawas 80-63 and Dundee 86-36 while the Bengals tamed Tuscarawas 64-50. Midvale has also beaten Augusta, Port Washington, Malvern and Baltic while Strasburg has also claimed Bolivar, Malvern and its Alumni with its only setback being a 63-62 reversal at the hands of Midvale. Bolivar and Stone Creek may also stage a stiff fight at the Creeker hardwoods. Bolivar has been coming along and now has taken two consecutive scalps, but the Cardinals' apparently have their work cut out for them as the Panthers have lost, but twice in seven tries. Baltic (1-5) and Dundee (0-5) pair off at Dundee in a game matching two clubs with the county's poorest records. Mineral City, which has bowed three straight times and has an overall mark of a lone victory in five starts, attempts to rebound at Walnut Creek. The Panthers have lost twice, but have won three, including their last two ventures.
