Port Washington's Purple Riders (0-1) (2-1) coasted to an easy victory over the Roscoe Tigers (0-1) (0-1) last night at Port Washington for their second win in three starts. Coach Bray Toot's Riders had little difficulty in turning back the Coschocton Countians who were launching their cage schedule and were out front 18-6 and 38-20 at the first two rest stops. With Ed Bates and Nick Frank showing the way, Port rolled to a 54-33 advantage at the three-way rest and coasted the remainder of the way. Ed Bates sank 21 points while Frank was close behind with 18 and Bob Welsch added 13. Jim Finnell, with 14 points, topped Roscoe's scoring efforts. The Port Washington Reserves (3-0) continued their unbeaten ways by downing the Roscoe Reserves 38-35.
