Gnadenhutten (4-1) and Wainwright (4-1) are now deadlocked for first place in the Tuscarawas County Midget League. The Gnaden team rang up two victories to pull into the deadlock. In a completion of a tie game, Gnaden defeated Port Washington (1-4) 6-5 and then nipped Tuscarawas (2-2) in a regularly scheduled contest yesterday 4-3. Wainwright kept pace with an 11-2 win over Midvale (1-4). In the makeup tilt, Gnaden's Rauzi picked up the win and helped his own cause with a single and a double. Hammersly (?) took the defeat with Jim Bender of Port getting a triple. No details were available on the Gnaden-Tusky contest. Wainwright's Richard Brown halted Midvale's hitters, all except Joe Leggett, who had a double and a triple, while Beans of Midvale took the defeat. Beans fanned five and Brown struck out nine. Sandy Bonvechio had two doubles while Sonny Edie had a double and a triple for Wainwright. Friday's Midget League schedule has Gnaden open with Wainwright at Tusky and Port Washington at Midvale.
