Midvale Faces Stern Test (1-10-56)

A 5-game bill has Tuscarawas and Gnadenhutten of the county schools as hot teams. In what could be the top battle of the night, the Midvale Blue Devils show at West Lafayette. The Blue Devils lead the county league and boast an overall slate of 10 wins in a dozen outings, while the Generals of West Lafayette have been topped only by Newcomerstown in seven trials. The Generals lead the Coshocton County B pack via six victories. Their loss was by an 83-78 count to the Trojans. Tusky (4-8) takes on Port Washington 6-5) at home, while Beach City entertains Sugarcreek-Shanesville (5-4). Bolivar and Baltic hit the road with Bolivar invading Greentown and Baltic visiting Fresno. Bolivar's Cards will be after their fourth win in 11 games, while Baltic, which has won three in a row and four of seven, goes for revenge at Greentown, a 65-63 victor over the Eagles in a season's opener. Gnaden, which triumphed 63-47 over Dennison in a previous hassle, risks its 11-1 mark against the Railroaders who have captured only two of eight decisions. The Pirates of Sugarcreek-Shanesville will be on the hunt for their fourth straight win.
