Walnut Creek Romps 64-36 Against Port (1-4-58)

WALNUT CREEK - The Walnut Creek Cardinals ran away from the Port Washington Purple Riders (0-9) in a non-league contest here last night. The Cardinals jumped to a first period lead of 19-10 and followed with quarter margins of 25-16 and 44-32. In the final stanza the Cardinals culminated their runaway, scoring 20 points to Port's 4. Leading the Cardinal attack was Stan Yoder who hit seven times from the field and four times from the charity line for 18 points. Teammate Keith Hershberger added 12. Port Washinton was led by John Landon, who had 10. Walnut Creek also won the Reserve contest destroying the Port Washington Reserves (1-8) 76-27. No Graders game.
