Headlining three county league battles last night was the Midvale (12-2) - Strasburg (9-7) game which saw the Blue Devils take a hard earned 52-44 triumph. The victory kept Midvale's loop slate clean with five victories, while the Tigers, in the throes of their worst season in years, now have a 2-4 mark and are in sixth place. Gnadenhutten's Indians (13-5), who are in second, will now have to sit back and wait to see how Midvale does in its three remaining league games as they played their last loop test of the season last night when they edged past the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (8-5) 49-46 for their sixth win in eight games in league competition. The Trojans are now 3-3 in the A league. In the other game Tuscarawas (6-6) downed Port Washington (1-13) 80-63 for its first loop triumph of the season, while the Purple Riders suffered their fifth straight loss putting them in last place. Baltic (11-4) which is idle until tonight when it plays a non-loop contest moved into third place with a 3-2 mark, while Stone Creek (9-7) took fourth, leaving Garaway (7-8) and Tuscarawas Valley tied for fifth spot.
