STONE CREEK - Stone Creek (8-7) was awarded only three foul shots and made two of them, but the Panthers didn't need any help from the white stripe as they thumped the invading Port Washington Purple Riders (1-12) last night. Coach Ed McGlumphy's Panthers took 90 flings at the basket and connected 45 times for a sizzling 50 per cent in notching the easy victory, which was the second of the year over the Riders. The triumphant hosts led 14-8, 38-20 and 68-28 at the quarters, their 30-point sprees in each of the last two periods turning the game into a rout. The Riders managed only eight points the third stanza. Rod Reinhart led the attack with 28 points, all on action shots, while Harold Baker tallied 23. Ron Phillips and Bill Phillips paced Port Washington with 15 and 11, respectively. It was Stone Creek again in the Reserve game as they beat Port Washington (1-12) 36-30. Stone Creek Graders made it a another sweep for the night as they started the thumping over the Port Washington Graders (2-5) 34-16.
