Broncos Down Purple Riders 70-60 for 2nd (12-18-57)

TUSCARAWAS - The Tuscarawas Broncos (2-3) downed the invading Port Washington Purple Riders (0-6) 70-60. In the first period, Tuscarawas took a 1-point 18-17 lead and were still ahead by that margin at halftime 27-26. In the third period they moved ahead slightly as they outscored Port 17-16 to make the score 44-42. They iced the contest in the final drive with 26 points to the Purple Riders' 18. Gary Caviness rattled the hoops for 13 goals and one foul for 27 points and the night's individual laurels. Teammate Tom Vesco had 16 on eight fielders and Robinson chipped in with 11, all for the Broncos. Larry Hagan led the losers with 13 and John Landon and Ron Phillips had 10 markers respectively. The Tuscarawas Reserves dumped the Port Washington Reserves (1-5) 46-28. No Graders game.
