Tuscarawas Class A Basketball League Standings (1-29-58)

After losing four straight contests the Strasburg Tigers (10-7) finally broke loose when they scorched the nets for a 96-29 victory over Port Washigton (1-14) in one of three county Class A battles played last night. The victory which gives Strasburg a 3-4 loop mark, moved them into a tie for sixth place with Garaway(8-8), which dropped a 71-66 decision to league leading Midvale (13-2), which now has a 6-0 mark in the league. The win by Midvale eliminated any chance that Gnadenhutten, which is now finished in league play, might have of winning the crown. However, the indians can still tie for the toga if the high flying Blue Devils lose their two remaining loop contests. In the other game Stone Creek (10-7) finished out its league schedule with a 5-3 record on a 70-57 win over Baltic (11-5), currently in fifth place with an even 3-3 mark. Tuscarawas Valley (9-5) and Tuscarawas (7-6) were idle.
