Two County High School Baseball League games were played yesterday with the Sugarcreek Pirates blanking the Port Washington Purple Riders (0-2) 15-0 and The Baltic Eagles downing Stone Creek Panthers 6-0. Behind the one-hit pitching of John Gross, the Pirates collected 16 safeties off John Landon, with the big blows being two triples and a single by Gordon Gerber and two doubles and two singles by Koran Zehnder. In the 5th the Creekers, led by Russ Kohler who tripled to drive in two runs, put across six markers. Gross struck out nine and walked five, with the only hit off him being a single by Jim Bender in the 4th. Sugarcreek will play at Stone Creek next Monday. Lautenslager of the Eagles also allowed but one safety, fanned 12 and walked one. The single was hit by Richard Hanks in the 5th. The Eagles' 13-hit assault was led by Marcus Ott, who came through with a circuit blast and a single. Sam Jacobs, who had a double and two singles, and John Rice with a double and single. The Panthers used three pitchers, with James McAffee being the starter and loser. He was relieved by Rod Reinhart in the 4th and Harold Blake took over in the 6th.
