Four games on Friday, April 12, will get the annual Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball Tournament under way, it was decided when drawings were held Thursday night at Gnadenhutten. Superintendent Clarence Troyer of Baltic is tourney manager. Games sites, to be on decided by the participating coaches shortly before the dates for the various games and will be announced in the schools involved and in the newspaper if time permits. In upper bracket tilts the first day, Stone Creek will meet Baltic and Dundee takes on Port Washington, while lower bracket clashes pit Strasburg against Tuscasrawas Valley. The Tuscarawas Broncos will meet the winner of the Stone Creek-Baltic Tussle on Tuesday, April 16, in an upper bracket quarterfinal game, while Midvale's Blue Devils tangle with the Strasburg-Sugarcreek victor in the lower bracket. Semi-final contests are slated for Monday, April 22, with the championship clash on Thursday, April 25. The champion and runner-up will both advance to the sectional joust booked for May 4 at Sugarcreek. Drawings for the sectional playoffs will be held April 29 in the offices of County Superintendent W.E. Laws who will be manager of the tourney.
