Midvale's Blue Devils (2-1) became the third team to qualify for the sectional Class A Baseball Tournament as they romped to a lopsided 16-1 victory over the Port Washington Purple Riders (0-1) yesterday at Gnadenhutten. The Gnadenhutten Indians (2-0) and Baltic Eagles (3-0) will meet tomorrow at 4PM for the County title, but both teams will join Midvale in the sectional to be held at Sugarcreek the week of May 5. Tomorrow's tilt is also at Sugarcreek. Lonnie Wolfe limited the Purple Riders to a triple by Nick Frank and two singles as he struck out 12 and walked only one batter, the first one up in the opening frame. Jerry Hannahs and Dale Combs pitched for Port Washington and were touched for 10 hits, while fanning nine and walking 10. Dave DeMattio, Tom Krocker and Lonnie Fulp each hit triples and singles. The three-bagger by DeMattio coming with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. Jerry Benedum added a double. (Note: The Port "Washington-Dundee game was not reported or not played.)
