Gnadenhutten's Indians (3-0), already the possessors of the county basketball tourney title, added the Class A County Baseball Tournament championship to their laurels yesterday as they tripped the Baltic Eagles (3-1) 4-2 in the titular playoff at Sugarcreek. Coach Dick Scott's Tribe, the Eagles and the Midvale Blue Devils now advance to the sectional playoffs slated to get underway Tuesday at Sugarcreek. Drawings will be held at 4PM Monday in the office of County Supt. W.E. Laws, tourney manager. Doubles by Bill Wallace and Ron Bradley and a Baltic error gave the Indians two runs in the first inning. After the Eagles tallied once in the second, Gnadenhutten came back with a marker in the third, knocked in by pitcher Larry Clark, and then scored again in the fifth as Ed Shull doubled and crossed the plate on Al Cappell's single. Baltic scored its second run in the sixth frame. Larry Clark of the Indians and Glen Reidenbach of Baltic each allowed six hits, half of them doubles. John Rice, Gary Berger and Ott each had two-baggers for the losers. Larry Clark struck out five, walked three, while Glen Reidenbach passed three and fanned four. Baltic made two errors, Gnadenhutten one.
