Dundee Midvale In Lidlifters (2-11-57)


Tournament time will get under way in the area as first round action is slated for the Tuscarawas County Class A Basketball League at Dover's Memorial Hall tonight. Two games are booked for tonight of the event which will see seven evenings of action in the double elimination tourney. At 7:30PM Midvale's Blue Devils (10-8) battle the Broncos (1-17) of Tuscarawas, while in the nightcap at 9PM Dundee (1-19) takes on Port Washington (11-7). County teams will skip Tuesday night and then resume play on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday night which will eventually decide semi-finalists in both the championship and consolation brackets. On Wednesday Strasburg's Terrific Tigers (17-1) meet the Eagles (13-7) of Baltic at 7:45PM and Sugarcreek's Pirates (10-10) clash with Gnadenhutten (17-3) at 9PM. In the consolation contest the loser of the Midvale-Tuscarawas game squares off with the loser of the Dundee-Port Washington tussle at 6:30PM to kickoff the evening's action. Thursday night two championship and one consolation fracas will provide the thrills. The Stone Creek Panthers (16-4) vie with the winner of the Midvale-Tuscarawas fray at 7:45PM, while the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (15-4) takes on the Dundee-Port Washington winner at 9PM. In the consolation game at 6:30 the losers of the Baltic-Strasburg and Sugarcreek-Gnadenhutten games kickoff action. Saturday night's two consolation games conclude the first week and four nights of action in the tourney. Next week after two games each on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night the Champions will be decided.
