Port Washington Athletes Will Be Feted On May 11 (5-2-57)

Port Washington High School athletes, managers, cheerleaders and coaches will be honored guests at a steak dinner Saturday, May 11, at the school gymnasium beginning at 6:30PM. Principal speaker for the affair has not yet been announced, but tickets are on sale at Nastoff Grocery in Port Washington and by Herb Stemple, Luther Lindon and Kenneth Morrison. Deadline for Purchasing tickets is Wednesday, May 8. Coach Jim Pfeiffer's Purple Riders posted 13 victories in 22 starts during the last basketball campaign. Highlight of the season was the 50-point spree by Ed Bates against Baltic in the county tournament which set a new individual single game record for the playoffs and for Dover Memorial Hall.
