The Tuscarawas County League champion Strasburg Tigers and defending 1956 tournament champion Midvale Blue Devils landed in the same bracket, while Gnadenhutten won an opposite bracket berth at the county tournament drawings held in Supt. W.E. Laws Office this morning. Strasburg (16-1) was seeded for its perfect 8-0 league mark, while Stone Creek (16-4) and Gnadenhutten (16-3) were forced to draw for the other seeded spot since both had 7-2 league marks. Gnadenhutten won the draw and was seeded opposite the Strasburg Tigers and Stone Creek was forced to play in the bracket with Strasburg. Tuscarawas (1-15) and Midvale (8-8) meet in the opening tilt on Monday at 7:30, while in the lower bracket action the same evening, Dundee (1-17) and Port Washington (11-5) meet in the nightcap. Stone Creek will meet the Tusky-Midvale winner on Thursday with Baltic and Strasburg clashing on Wednesday for the other half of the upper bracket semi-finals berth. Tuscarawas Valley (13-4) meets the Dundee-Port winner on Thursday, while Sugarcreek (7-9) and Gnadenhutten meet on Wednesday with the two winners meeting for the semi-finals. The semi-finals are slated for Thursday, February 21, with the finals booked for Saturday, February 23.
