SUGARCREEK - Garaway's Pirates rallied in the bottom half of the eighth inning yesterday to defeat Warsaw 4-3 and advance to the Class "A" District finale here at Community Park this afternoon. The Pirates will clash with West Lafayette for the title and the coveted trip to the Regional Tournament at North Canton's Hoover Stadium next week. Coach Bill Hay's Buccos, runner-ups to already-eliminated Tuscarawas in the Tuscarawas County tourney chase, capitalized on a Warsaw weakness for bunts to secure the triumph. Russ Kohler led off the 8th with a single. Bob Raber struck out, but Kohler advanced on a steal. He reached third on a fielder's choice which also permitted Steve Gray to gain first base and then scored on a perfect squeeze bunt by Bud Yakley. Junior righthander Charley Stingel limited the Coshocton Countians to only three hits, but had control trouble, walking nine. He struck out eight. Warsaw's big inning was the second, when Stingel walked three and was touched for one hit, permitting three runs. Tarrah went the distance for the losers, permitting 8 hits, fanning 10 and walking only four. His mates made 6 errors.
