After a year of hard work, players and coaches always look forward to the presentation of awards which are made annually following the title game of the County Class "A" Tournament. Tusky Valley's Ben Price won the coveted coaches "Most Valuable Player" trophy. He followed a long line of standout recipients of the award. Previous winners were Rod Reinhart and Jim Lorenz of Stone Creek, Eldon Miller of Gnadenhutten, Dick Tolotti of Midvale, Jim Kuecher of Strasburg and Terry Deems of Tuscarawas.

Robert Heller of Tuscarawas Valley received the second annual "Coach of the Year" award. In his second year at the Trojan heim, he molded them into one of the hottest cage unit in the area. He is a former Dover High Freshman cage mentor and in addition to his basketball duties, is athletic director at the Bolivar School.

Gnadenhutten and Midvale had the honor as being represented by the two best cheerleading groups in the county. Members of the Midvale team, which also won last season are Karen Smith, Linda Carlisle, Louise Clerici, Virginia Hibbs, Mary Varrally and Saundra Penick. Judy Parrish, Judy Gooding, Bonnie Struchen and Karon Parrish led Gnaden.

Members of this year's coaches All-County Team were Ben Price and Roy Buchanan of Tuscarawas Valley, Ron Bradley of Gnadenhutten, Gary Caviness of Tuscarawas, Bill Phillips of Port Washington, John Rice of Baltic, Frank Wallick of Strasburg, Ron Breniser of Gnadenhutten, Charley Stingel of Garaway and Jim McAfee of Stone Creek.
