Garaway and Midvale were crowned respective champions in the county high school and grade school girls track meet in its annual running yesterday afternoon at Crater Stadium. Garaway totaled 54 points to win the high school event. Midvale had 27 for the runner-up spot followed by Strasburg 21, Gnadenhutten 12, Tusky Valley 9, Baltic 5 and Port Washington 2. In taking the grade triumph, Midvale ended with 36 points. It was followed by Gnadenhyutten 17 1/3, Strasburg 9, Ragersville 8 1/3, Garaway and Tuscarawas with 8 apiece, Tuscarawas Valley 7 and Port Washington 2 1/3.

Carol Weinman of Strasburg set the lone meet record when she tossed the baseball 224 feet 7 1/4 inches. She also won the shot put and was the only double winner. Garaway took five of eight posible first en route to its victory, winning both relay events. In the grade division, Midvale won three of six blue ribbons. No other stats reported.
