Two games were slated to open the Class "A" Sectional Baseball Tournament at Sugarcreek's Community Park today, but because of last night's rains it has been indicated by the county office that the openers will be moved back until Wednesday. Clashing in the opening contest at 1PM will be Malvern and Tuscarawas, Tuscarawas County runnerup, while Hiland and West Lafayette will battle in the second test at 3. Big Prairie-Lakeville and Warsaw will meet in the only game slated for Thursday at 3. Tuscarawas County Champion Garaway, which drew a bye, will meet the Big Prairie-Warsaw victor Monday at 3, while the winner of the Malvern-Tusky game and victor of the Hiland-West Lafayette contest meet at 1. The tournament finals have been set for Thursday, May 7, at 3PM, with the winner gaining the Regional Tournament at North Canton. Gnadenhutten was the defending Sectional and Regional champ. Drawings for the Sectional tournament were held yesterday in the office of County Superintendent W. E. Laws.
