Although the Tuscarawas County Class A Basketball League has had only two full nights of action thus far, advance notice was given last night that it would be a red-hot race down to the wire before the champion is decided early in February. Gnadenhutten's Indians (3-0) (4-2) current slate begain by copping its third straight triumph in a 65-47 romp over Strasburg (0-2) (1-3). Defending champion Midvale (2-0) (4-0) and Stone Creek (2-0) (3-1) chalked up their second victories to also, keep clean loop slates. The Devils were pushed the distance before squeezing out a 73-71 victory over Baltic (1-2) (4-4), while the Panthers had an easier time when they topped Tuscarawas (0-2) (0-3) 44-33. Garaway's Pirates (1-1) (3-2) copped their initial league verdict by coming up with the biggest offensive output to trample Port Washington (0-3) (0-4) 86-42. Tuscarawas Valley (1-0) (3-0) was the only league team idle. The Trojans made good use of its "spare" time to waltz by the Dennison Railroaders 73-33.
