AUGUSTA - After leading for three periods, Port Washington (0-6) saw its attack fizzle out as the hosts jelled to nip them 62-60 in a sudden death overtime. The Purple Riders, bidding for their initial victory, took an 11-point lead into the final period, but relaxed and the Devils tied the count at 56-56 at the end of the regulation game. After being deadlocked 60-60 at the end of the first overtime, Augusta hit for the winning two points in the sudden death. It was Port's sixth straight loss this season and their 15th straight loss since January 8th of last season. Bill Phillips led the losers with 23 points, while John Landon tossed in 13 and Larry Hagan had 10 points. Bill Zwallen fired in 20 for Augusta, while Long and Crawford followed with 12 and 10 each. In the Reserve game, Augusta prevailed again over Port (1-5) 22-19.
