MALVERN - Port Washington's Purple Riders (2-7), who had lost seven in a row this season until last Friday night when they posted win No. 1, now have a winning streak in the making. The Riders followed up with a 43-42 victory here Saturday night, coming from behind to bag the decision. Pint-sized Bill Phillips once again was the big man in the Port attack, sinking the winning basket with 15 seconds left to finish the night with 22 points. Port led 22-18 at halftime, but trailed 11-8 at the first quarter and 34-33 at the three-quarter mark. The Port Washington Reserves (2-7) dropped a 33-28 verdict to the Malvern Reserves in the initial game.
