The powerful Strasburg Tigers notched their 46th consecutive Tuscarawas County Class "A" victory last night, strengthened their lead in the league with five victories and loomed as the county's best team once again as they halted an early Stone Creek surge to cop a 64-54 verdict. The Tigers, with a season record of 12 wins and one loss, had considerable trouble in stopping the Panthers who held leads at the end of the first two quarters. Stone Creek now has a 4-2 loop mark and a 11-4 season record. The Baltic Eagles, up and down all season, upset the Port Washington Purple Riders 81-79 in the best game of the evening. Both teams had identical loop marks of 3-2 going into the contest. The Eagles moved into a tie for fourth place with Stone Creek. Baltic is 11-4 and Port 10-5 for the season. In the other contests the Gnadenhutten Indians copped their fifth league win as against two losses with a 75-61 victory over Sugarcreek and winless Tuscarawas stopped Dundee 69-65 for its first victory of the season. Gnaden moved into the third spot behind Tuscarawas Valley who was idle while Dundee was stranded in the cellar all alone with no victories.
