Port Washington (0-1)(0-3) was still without a victory in three starts after dropping its league opener to the Trojans of Tuscarawas Valley (1-0)(2-1) who exhibited their best offensive punch in three outings. Coach Jim Pfeiffer's Purple Riders battled the Trojans on nearly equal terms the initial period before falling behind 17-13 at the break. At halftime the Trojans had boosted their edge to 33-27. A third quarter during which the victors added 21 points to 12 for Port Washington decided the verdict although the losers came back to score 23 the closing chukker to 19 for the Trojans. Ben Price and Dave Wolf, with 26 and 22 points respectively, gave the Trojans a potent one-two punch, while Ken Haueter contributed 12. The Purple Riders were paced by Ed Bates with 20 points, while Nick Frank and Denver Glazer added 18 and 16 respectively. In the reserve game, the Port Washington Reserves (1-1) won their first game with a 37-28 victory over the Tuscarawas Valley Reserves.
