CONESVILLE - With Ed Bates pouring through 13 fielders and four free throws for 30 points, the Port Washington Purple Riders (10-4) continued their winning ways last night as they chalked up a victory over Conesville. Coach Jim Pfeiffer's Riders, after a bad start, have now won seven straight games, 10 in their last 11 starts. Conesville trailed by 13 points at each of the first two periods as Port Washington took 22-15 and 48-35 leads before increasing it to 70-54 going into the final frame. Three other Purple Riders tallied in double figures as Nick Frank and Denver Glazer each scored 18 points and Jim Emler added 10. Nick Frank fouled out midway in the last quarter. Jim Lafferty was top scorer for Conesville with 28 points. The Conesville Reserves dropped the Port Washington Reserves (5-6) 40-34.
