The Stone Creek-Port Washington basketball game in the Tuscarawas County Basketball Class A League probably drew the most attention today. The Panthers nipped the inconsistent Purple Riders 73-72 and the win gives Stone Creek two victories and no losses in the loop. But, Gnadenhutten remains at the top of the pack in the league after trouncing Tuscarawas 79-38 for its third victory. Just last Tuesday Port Washington knocked off Gnaden in a non-loop tilt to put the only blemish on the Tribes' season record. The 1955-56 League Champion Strasburg Tigers will most likely have to be contended with again this year. Last night they won their second game in loop action with an 85-63 romp over Baltic and are tied with Stone Creek and Tuscarawas Valley with two wins. In the only other contest Sugarcreek blasted hapless Dundee 94-45.
