The steadily improving Purple Riders of Port Washington (2-2) (7-4) led all the way as they chalked up their second victory over Gnadenhutten (3-2) (9-3) as they posted commanding quarter leads of 23-11, 33-19 and 56-40 over the tribesmen. Coach Dick Scott's Indians were limited to eight points the second period before the Riders shifted into high gear and swished 49 points through the nets the second half to notch their fourth straight win and sixth victory in their last seven starts. Ed Bates and Denver Glazer continued their high-scoring pace for Coach Jim Pfeiffer's Riders as they hit 20 and 21 points, respectively, while Jerry Hannahs chimed in with 14 and Jim Emler had 15. The usual high-scoring Larry Biggs of Gnadenhutten was held to six points as Larry Clark led the Indians with 19. Eldon Miller and Ron Bradley followed with 16 and 14, respectively. Nick Frank, veteran Port Washington center, was knocked out in a scuffle under the boards early in the third quarter. He was treated by a physician who reported Frank had a slight concussion, but should be ready to play in the next Purple Rider game. The Reserve game was Gnadenhutten 40, Port Washington (5-4) 35. The Graders game was won by Port Washington (2-1) over Gnadenhutten 46-45.
