A real youngster will succeed the dean of the county coaches, it was revealed today, when Superintendent Jerry Baird of Port Washington High School announced that James R. Pfeiffer would tutor the Purple Riders next year. Pfeiffer, who graduated from Stone Creek High School in 1950, succeeds the veteran Bray Toot who coached at Port Washington for 10 years before resigning recently to become superintendent at Dellroy. The new Purple Rider mentor won four letters in basketball while starring for the Stone Creek Panthers. He was named to the All-County cage team one year and received honorable mention on another occasion. Teaching on a temporary certificate while continuing his study toward a degree at Kent State University. Pfeiffer has been director of music at Port Washington for the past two years and will continue in that capacity in addition to coaching. He has also attended the collage of Wooster and Heidelberg College where he was a member of the Student Prince freshman basketball squad. Pfeiffer's employment at Port Washington leaves only one coaching vacancy in the county, Mineral City, still searching for a replacement for Bob Penrod who resigned.
