Sugarcreek is still in contention for the fall baseball title last night as they defeated Port Washington (2-2). Port opened the scoring in the last of the first frame when they filled the bases on three walks. Then with two men out Denver Glazer, speedy third baseman stole home for a 1-0 lead. Sugarcreek tied the game up in the third stanza on back to back singles and a fielders choice. Port gained the lead again in the fourth frame when Nick Frank opened with one of Ports' two hits and was forced in on three straight charity bases. Charley Stengel, started on the mound for the winners, but was relieved in the frame by John Goss who finished out the contest. The winners tied it up again in the fifth on two walks and Goss' run producing single. In the seventh frame the Pirates produced two runs on two hits and an error plus a fielders choice. The big blow was Butch Yakley's two run triple. Jerry Hannahs went the distance for Port and granted nine hits, walked five and fanned three.
