61 - TV Trips Up Undefeated Conotton Valley 82-62 (12-24-60)

BOWERSTON - Paced by the twin scoring efforts of Mike Widder and Jim Studer the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (4-1) set Harrison County's Conotton Valley (5-0) back on its heels for the first time this campaign by a 20 point margin.  The Rockets entered the game with a perfect mark, but a rash of ice cold shooting that matched the sub-zero temperatures outside, put a big crimp in their previously explosive offense.  Tusky Valley fell behind 7-0 at the outset of the contest, but quickly recovered to turn the game into a route.  The Trojans gained the upperhand midway through the first period and moved to a 26-17 lead by the end of the quarter.  They held margins of 45-30 and 61-40 at the next 2 stops.  Widder and Studer shared the limelight in the Trojans' spectacular triumph when each tallied 25 points.  Ron Lake and Al Cerett also gained the double digets with 11 and 10 points, respectively.  Larry Dunlap paced the Rockets with 26 points for the night's scoring honors.  Russ Garner added 21.  The Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (1-4) dominated their game as well with a 54-26 victory against the Conotton Valley Reserves.
