61 - Garaway Survives Low-Scoring Game At Strasburg 31-26 (1-14-61)

STRASBURG - Strasburg (0-4) (1-9), in the throes of a losing season as Coach Warren Binder builds a new scoring machine, elected  to rely on possession basketball as its best bet against the strong Garaway (4-0) (10-2) invaders.  The Pirates took the opening tipoff and scored.  Seconds later Strasburg turned the ball over and Garaway tallied again for a 4-0 margin.  But then the Tigers held the ball 7 minutes, scoring in the fading seconds of the quarter to trail 4-2.  Garaway pulled Strasburg's keeper game apart enough in  the second period to assume a 14-3 margin at halftime.  Garaway led 23-12 at the end of the third period.  Jim Clymer of  the losers took the scoring honors with 13 points, while BobRaber headed Garaway with 11.  Strasburg took only 24 field shots, sinking 10 for 42 percent.  Garaway shot 38 times, clicking on 13 for 34 percent.  The winners made 5 of 13 free throws, while  Strasburg cashed 6 of 9.
