61 - Stone Creek No Match ForTusky In 70-56 Loss (12-24-60)

Stone Creek's Panthers (0-3) (1-7), who have slipped back into their ways since upending Newcomerstown in a battle of the winless on December 13, gave Tuscarawas (1-2) (4-5) a battle for a quarter, but couldn't stand the pace.  Although they played with Larry Stephon, who was ill with the flu, the Panthers were no match for the Broncos as they piled up succeeding quarter leads of 33-21 and 50-33.  Vic Vesco paced a well-distributed Tuscarawas scoring parade with 20 points, while Gale Sauser of Stone Creek took scoring honors with 23.  Tuscarawas hit on 28 of 65 shots, while Stone Creek hit on 14 of 41.  The Panthers stayed in the game primarily because of a 28 of 38 performance at the charity stripe.  The Tusky Reserves (6-2) whipped the Stone Creek Reserves (0-8) 57-42.
