61 - TV In A Breeze Over Malvern 73-39 (2-8-61)

BOLIVAR - Tuscarawas Valley (11-6) breathed easy last night when it warmed up for Friday night's important Tusarawas County Class "A" duel against Garaway (16-2), by soundly thumping Malvern.  Coach Bob Heller of the Trojans substituted freely, giving his subs plenty of action.  All but one of the 10 who saw action gained the scoring column.  In boosting their record the Trojans were led by Al Cerett's 20 points, his high of the season.  Ron Lake and Mike Widder followed with 16 apiece.  Tom Andrews led the Hornets with 11 points.  Tuscarawas Valley posted quarter margins of 22-6, 32-14 and 43-23 and finished the night by bombarding the nets for 30 points in the final quarter.  Percentagewise the Trojans had an off night.  They made only 28 of 75 field goal attempts for 27 percent.  Malvern managed to get off only 32 shots against the rugged Tuscarawas Valley defense and made 12 of 32 percent.  From the foul line Tuscarawas Valley made 17 of 28 and the Hornerts 15 of 26.  The Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (8-6) blew away the Malvern Reserves in similar fashion by a score of 46-17.
