59 - Right Down The Line (6-4-58)

With last week's resignation of Ed McGlumphy from the Strasburg High basketball post, there are now four coaching vacancies in Tuscarawas County to be filled before the next school term. Jack Beliville resigned his post at Baltic for advanced study at Ohio State University, but his brother, Tom, who coached the reserve basketball team last season, is expected to step up to the head post. He also is principal of the school. McGlumphy also is responsible for an opening at Stone Creek, the county's smallest school. He resigned at Stone Creek a month ago to accept the head spot at Strasburg. The other post open within the county is at Port Washington where the contract of Bill Oppenheimer, first-year mentor last season, was not renewed. Meanwhile, on the home scene, the Dover High Board of Education continues to screen applicants for Tornado grid post with high hopes of coming up with the man they want for the job. The month of June is just started and coaches can still hand in their resignations until the first of July. There could be more resignations.
