59 - Make It Three Straight For Garaway Pirates (9-16-58)

In a Tuscarawas County baseball game yesterday, Garaway (3-0) downed Baltic (0-2) 4-2 with Charley Stingel receiving the win. He limited the losers to five hits, struck out seven and walked two, while teammates collected 10 off Baltic moundsman Robert Lautensleger. Pacing the winning hit parade were Bud Yakley with a single and double. Koran Zehnder with a triple and single, Larry Yakley two singles and Don Blieninger with a double. Wayne Gerber had a double and Gary Berger two singles for the losers.

The other county game between Port Washington and Stone Creek was not reported. It is assumed that Port won due to Stone Creek's first win coming later in the season.
