Midvale's Bob Sherrell practically cinched the County Class B Loop scoring race when he tallied 25 points in the Blue Devils' triumph over Mineral City last Friday night. The 6-4 center has netted 72 field goals and 32 free throws to total 176 markers in nine league games, an average of 19.5 points a game. Sherrell's closest rival is Sugarcreek-Shanesville's Richard (Ike) Hostetler who has collected 62 action shots and 20 free throws for 144 points. Gene McPherson of the Stone Creek Panthers is third with 135 and his mate, Jim Pfeiffer, is forth with 130. Dale Adams of the Mineral City Tigers is fifth with 127. Rounding out the roster of the top ten scoring artists are: Harold Ridenour, Stone Creek, 125; Bill Tharp, Tuscarawas, 118; Maurice Lundenberger, Bolivar, 115; Boris Hostetler, Dundee, 106; and Ted Lawver, Gnadenhuttten, 105. Other cagers scoring 100 points or more include: Carl Pissocra, Midvale, 104; Jim Huffman, Strasburg, 102; Dale Brick, Gnadenhutten, 101; and Dean Huprich, Baltic, 100.
