Panther Ace Leads Scorers (1-10-50)

Gene McPherson of Stone Creek's Panthers moved past Tuscarawas' Bill (Spike) Tharp to caplture top rung in the County Class B Basketball League's scoring race after he rimmed 21 points against Baltic last Friday night, boosting his total to 94.

The Broncos were idle Friday night and as a result Tharp dropped to the seventh slot with 74 points.

Harold Ridenour, another member of Coach Ken Newlon's powerful Panther crew, jumped from third into second after his 19-point splurge against Baltic. In third is Bob Sherrell, ace rebound and pivot man of Couch Bill French's Midvale Blue Devils. Sherrell tallied 24 points when Midvale upset Sugarcreek-Shanesville last Friday night.

Pushing the 6-4 center of the Blue Devils and in fourth is Richard (Ike) Hostetler of the Pirates who has netted 81 points.
