Coach Warren Craigo's Cardinals (8-7) had trouble finding the range in the first half, but came back with a 33-point surge in the last two periods to notch the triumph. Leading 7-5 at the close of the initial round, Bolivar fell off the pace in the second quarter and dropped behind 20-12 at the half. With Ed Grossenbacher and Bill Willard sparking the onslaught, the Cardinals unleashed a 20-point splurge in the third period and were in command 32-24 going into the final frame. Grossenbacher copped scoring laurels by meshing 13 markers while Willard followed close behind with 12. Harold Weber paced Port Washington (2-9) with 10 points.
